Vopak, the world's largest independent bulk liquids terminal operator, started construction on its new integrated oil and chemicals terminal facility in Banyan Logispark - its fourth and largest terminal in Singapore. The S$625 million complex will encompass 900,000 cubic metres of petroleum product storage and 550,000 cubic metres of chemicals storage. This is in addition to its extant 1.5 million cubic metres of capacity in its other terminals. The first phase of the facility is expected to be complete by April 2006. Singapore also hosts its Asia Pacific headquarters.

Hamilton Sunstrand broke ground on its second aerospace manufacturing plant in Singapore. The company is expected to invest up to S$55 million in manufacturing equipment to produce high precision aircraft components and systems, in addition to setting up an engineering centre for aftermarket services.
