Official opening of the Energy Research Institute at NTU (ERIAN)

The Nanyang Technological University (NTU) has established, a S$200M, 250-researcher global centre of excellence which focuses on R&D in sustainable energy, energy efficiency and infrastructure. More specifically, the centre will be fostering unique research competencies in the nascent clean energy of wind and marine renewables, energy storage, green and smart buildings and fuel cells.


As an industry-oriented research facility, ERIAN has forged collaborations with multiple industry partners, including the likes of Robert Bosch GmbH (organic photovoltaics), Vestas Technology R&D (wind) and Rolls Royce (fuel cells). Also, to synergise NTU’s existing technological strengths with those of renowned sustainable and clean energy experts, ERIAN signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with various high-profile academic partners, including TU Munich, Imperial College, Cambridge University and the Austrian Institute of Technology.
