The opening of this new facility is significant as this is IQE's first epitaxial wafer manufacturing facility in Asia through MBE Technology. IQE is the world's largest supplier of epitaxial wafers. IQE's expansion will add significantly to building up a cluster of compound semiconductor manufacturing activities in Singapore. Through developing compound semiconductor epitaxial process R&D capabilities, Singapore's value proposition to other compound wafer manfactuers will be enhanced.
