01 Jun 2005
Thales, a leading supplier and service provider of aerospace equipment, has commissioned Singapore-based business space solutions provider Ascendas to build its new facility at Singapore's Changi North Rise.

Mr Olivier Guibert, Managing Director, Thales Aerospace Division, noted that Thales is catering to the needs of its growing Asian customer base with its new maintenance centre and expanded workforce.
Based here since 1993, the company considers Singapore the ideal location for its aerospace hub in Asia, largely thanks to the strong support it has received from the Singapore government.

Thales' expansion provides a further boost to Singapore's position as a leading aviation hub

Thales' new facility will spread over 6,300 sq m and employ about 150 employees. The company's expansion provides a further boost to Singapore's position as a leading aviation hub.
This joint partnership is the first build-to-suit (BTS) project between Thales and Ascendas, and serves as Ascendas' 14th BTS project in Asia. Ascendas will own, develop and manage the property for Thales, and construction is expected to be completed in nine months. Ascendas' clients include Infineon, Exel, Friwo, Honeywell, INSEAD and NH Technoglass.
