Entering Singapore For Business



Pro-business policies make it easy for corporations to do business in Singapore. For the investor within the company, Singapore offers several ways in which one can enter and re-enter the country with relative ease.

 

Global Investor Programme (GIP)
The Global Investor Programme eases the way for foreigners to set up and operate businesses in Singapore.  For more information on the Global Investor Programme and application process, please refer to the following links:


Important Notice:

  1. Please note that the GIP application form has been revised to version 3.0 with effect from 22 September, Tuesday, after 9.00am.   
  2. All interested GIP applicants must use the revised application form (version 3.0) for application submission.
  3. Applicants who have already completed the outdated application form can export the data to the revised application form by following the steps indicated in the user guide here.
Multiple Journey Visa (MJV)
This visa facilitates the entry of business executives from countries that require a visa into Singapore.

Holders of this visa are permitted to enter Singapore as often as required within the validity period of the visa. The holder may stay up to 30 days per visit. This is ideal if you anticipate the need to make frequent trips to and from Singapore. Upon a successful application, you may be issued a 1, 2 or 5-year MJV, in accordance with ICA's existing visa guidelines in Singapore.

Duration of stay under MJV
MJV holders can stay in Singapore for 14 to 30 days per visit depending on the mode of arrival. Further extension of one's stay will be considered by ICA in Singapore on a case-by-case basis.

You are eligible to apply if you are:
  1. Attending to businesses or investments in Singapore and travel to Singapore frequently,
  2. Looking for or exploring business opportunities in Singapore.
Things to note when applying for Multiple Journey Visa

Visa requirement
Please check with the Singapore overseas missions in your country on visa requirements for entry into Singapore. If you require a visa, the following information on the MJV application and process will be useful to you.

Letter of Introduction (LOI)
You are required to have a Singapore-registered company to provide you with a LOI which is to be submitted together with the MJV application.

Upon getting a Letter of Introduction
You will need to submit the following documents for your MJV application upon getting a LOI:
  1. Application Form 14
  2. Form V39A: a LOI to be filled up by the Singapore company
  3. Form V52: to be filled up by the Singapore company detailing the visit
  4. Extract from the Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) containing the profile of the Singapore company
  5. Photograph
  6. Photocopies of passport (biodata and the last 3 pages) if submitted at Immigration & Checkpoints Authority in Singapore.

Completed application forms with supporting documents can be submitted either at ICA in Singapore located at:

Processing time
For nationals of China and India, MJV applications are usually processed within 3 working days upon receipt of the application, provided that no further verification is required. Submission of forms completed in full with all relevant supporting documents will ensure an expedient process. For nationals of other visa-requiring countries, you may check ICA's website for further details on the visa processing time.

Long-Term Visit Pass for Entrepreneurs (LTVP) 

This pass is for entrepreneurs who require a longer term stay in Singapore to explore business opportunities, conduct feasibility studies or business negotiations for starting a business in Singapore. The pass allows the entrepreneur to leave and re-enter Singapore within the validity period without having to re-apply each time.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  1. Applicant must provide evidence of project-plan for an emerging business in Singapore and/or presence of a Singapore joint-venture partner; OR
  2. Applicant is representing a parent company with established track record and has a presence in global/regional markets or is looking for a presence in the global/regional markets.

VALIDITY PERIOD:

  1. The Long-term Visit Pass for Entrepreneurs is valid for a maximum of six months (please note that a shorter period may be granted).
  2. Applicant may leave and re-enter Singapore within the validity period of the Pass.

APPLICATION FORM & SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED:

 

  1. Application Form for the Long-term Visit Pass for Entrepreneurs – Letter of Support from EDB (download)
  2. A brief write-up indicating:
    1. Objective of your stay
    2. Area of business interest
    3. Preliminary business idea
    4. Development strategy with proposed timeline and operations plan
    5. Resume of your relevant skill(s) & work experience(s)
    6. Any other additional information to support the application (if any)


The timeline for processing the letter of support is dependent on a case-by-case basis subject to the completeness of the information provided. The outcome will be mailed to the Singapore correspondence address indicated on the Application Form for the Long-term Visit Pass for Entrepreneurs.


Upon receipt of the Letter of Support from EDB, the applicant may approach Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) to submit their application for the Long-term Visit Pass for Entrepreneurs. Please refer to ICA’s website for details of the application.

EntrePass

Designed to facilitate the entry and stay of entrepreneurs who will be actively involved in the starting up and operation of the company in Singapore. The EntrePass has an initial validity period of up to 2 years and will be issued upon the submission of a sound business proposal. The EntrePass also allows your immediate family to live in Singapore while you start and grow your business here. With the EntrePass you may leave and re-enter Singapore frequently with ease. It is renewable for as long as the business remains viable.
