Case Studies
ZTE Corporation, China's largest listed telecommunications equipment manufacturer and leading wireless solutions provider, opened its Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore, citing the country's technological sophistication as its motivation. "Singapore is the flagship market in this region - the local operators are focused on delivering the very latest technology to meet the demands of a sophisticated customer base," said President and CEO, Yin Yimin. The new headquarters is expected to manage the sales, marketing and technical support needs of its Southeast Asian and Oceanic operations.
US-based Xilinx, the world's largest manufacturer of programmable logic chips, plans to set up its Asia Pacific headquarters with in-house test facilities in Singapore. This complex will house its IT, human resources, logistics, sales and marketing divisions, as well as limited R&D activity to support its operations from Greater China to Australasia and India. Singapore not only offers one of the world's most business-friendly infrastructures, but it is a hub for complementary businesses such as wafer fabrication, assembly and design," says Stacy Fender, General Manager of Xilinx Asia Pacific.
