Dr. Shane Snyder
Research and Development Project Manager
Dr. Shane Snyder is no stranger to the water research industry. Having earned his bachelor's degree in chemistry from Thiel College in Pennsylvania and a dual Ph.D. in Environmental Toxicology and Zoology from Michigan State University, Dr. Snyder focuses his research on the fate, transport, and treatment of emerging contaminants. Since 1997, Dr. Snyder has been conducting research at Lake Mead, Nevada and is employed by the Southern Nevada Water Authority in Las Vegas, Nevada, as the Research and Development Project Manager. Besides his own research studies, Dr. Snyder is also the principal investigator on several emerging contaminant research grants funded by the Department of Defense, the American Water Works Association Research Foundation, and the WateReuse Foundation. In addition, he is a member of the US Federal Advisory Committee, and serves as the Chair of the American Water Works Association's Organic Contaminant Research Committee, as well as the vice-chair of the Source Water Protection Committee.
